How to Select the Right Aerator

Flow Rate

Choose the right flow rate for the application

The Energy Policy Act of 1992 prompted the standards for plumbing to be no than 2.2 GPM at 60 psi. EPA’s voluntary Watersense program requires 1.5 GPM at 60 psi (0.8 GPM minimum at 20 psi) for residential lavatory faucets. Additionally, there are some states, counties and cities that have their own flow rate requirements. Refer to your local code for additional details.

No air mixes with the water (non-aerated) resulting in a crystal clear stream that’s non-splashing. This stream the ideal for health care facilities (no mix water/air).

Air mixes with the water stream to produce a soft, white, non- splashing stream. This stream is usually found in residential kitchen and bathroom faucets.

Several miniature laminar streams create a shower pattern. Sprays are normally found in public lavatories.

PCA

Pressure Compensating: Maintains the specified flow rate across the pressure range, whether the pressure is lower or higher than 60 psi (green line)

*Flow rate increases as the pressure increases (red line) *Only reaches the specified flow rate at 60 psi *Flow rate keeps increasing beyond the specified flow rate above 60 psi

Ultimate anti-liming solution by design and also screenless. Lime builds up on the grid pattern, keeping the stream and intended flow rate intact
