HPPE / Steel / Glass Gloves High Performance Polyethylene (HPPE) has a tensile strength 15x stronger than steel on an equal weight basis. Hand and arm protection made with HPPE is lightweight, comfortable and abrasion and cut resistant. Tests have shown that gloves made with HPPE fibers have up to 20x the abrasion resistance of gloves made with spun Aramid yarns. HPPE fiber can be combined with glass fiber and/ or steel fiber to provide higher cut protection levels.
