division where Judge Kinnaird began her judicial career. Personal andProfessional Dedication Before retiring, Judge Kinnaird humbly told the Daily Law Bulletin that “I know that there’s a whole bunch of things out there that I want to change in the world. I just have to figure out how to go about doing it.” Judge Kinnaird went on to do just that. In 2012, the Circuit Court of Cook County launched the Foreclosure Mediation program. Created in response to the economic crisis and a large number of mortgage foreclosures, the program was designed to deliver critical services and information to litigants, helping themmake informed decisions and decide whether to leave their homes. When the program ended in 2017, more than 7,200 homes and families had been saved from foreclosure. Chief Judge Evans noted that

the program would not have been possible without Judge Kinnaird. Judge Kinnaird changed our commu- nity through her radical kindness, her love, and her dedication in both her personal and professional life. She inspired many to become leaders and get involved in the YLS and CBA. Above all, she instilled the importance of family to everyone she met. Judge Kinnaird has inspired many to become leaders in the YLS and CBA, judges in the Circuit Court of Cook County, loving mothers and fathers, and mentors. By putting family first, Judge Kinnaird showed that everything else would follow, for the better.
