“I got Freddie Mercury in September ago for my anxiety. I’ve been dealing with a lot of stress with the pandemic and graduation, so by hav ing my cat, he has taught me to be more pres ent rather than being stuck on what’s ahead. Also, having my cat around has helped me be selfless and be able to escape everything going on in the world right now. It’s as if he’s my safe zone. It was a big commitment and adjustment to my living situation when getting my cat, but I realize the therapeutic aspect of having an emotional support animal.”

“Mr. Mochi has brought joy to my life through this stressful pandemic. He eases my anxiety and stress, anchoring me when I feel overwhelmed. He also provides emotional comfort and happiness to Tower Hall and has been dubbed the Tower mascot. I chose to get a bunny for an emotional support animal because they are intelligent, loving and low maintenance. Mr. Mochi has an easy-going temperament has helped me to take things one day at a time and not become hyper-focused on one issue. Dealing with mental struggles that are not visible on the surface can be a lonely journey, but knowing I have God on my side and that I can always count on Mochi’s unconditional love has made me feel that I can be successful regardless of what I face.” Kia Harlan Sophomore art therapy and graphic design double major
