WHAT SPARKED YOUR INTEREST IN ART?

“Before I majored in Illustration, I had started off in fine art. I loved the classes, but illustration allowed me to tell stories through drawing and writing. Illustration has taught me to have more grace and confidence toward my work. If you don’t think your work is worth anything, no one else will either.”

Elijah Tronti Senior illustration major

“In the beginning I had a hard time figuring out my major. I didn’t think I could ever live off of art, but after being friends with other graphic design majors, I was convinced by the CAVAD community who are passionate about what they do.”

Nakoma Friesen Senior graphic design major

“I’ve always loved movies and television. I wanted to do something in that realm as soon as high school. I love learning about the art of film and the idea behind art of theory, cinematography, writing, etc.. With film you have to dive in! You will never learn by watching from the sidelines.”

Trevor Vals Senior film major

“Growing up around family members that are designers, I was introduced to the design industry at a young age and have grown to love it more as I have gotten older. I was extremely lucky to know what I wanted to study right off the bat.”
