In Patris Corde , Pope Francis develops seven aspects of Saint Joseph as a father that serve as a guide. I encourage you to read this brief letter. To whet your curiosity, here are the seven images of Saint Joseph it contains – a beloved father, a tender and loving father, an obedient father, an accepting father, a creatively courageous father, a working father and a father in the shadows. The Holy Father also wrote a special prayer to Saint Joseph for the year that I encourage you to pray. While doing so, reflect on those images of Saint Joseph and pray for all fathers. They have a tough job and we need them to be happy, healthy and holy men like Saint Joseph. A blessed Father’s Day to all dads!

Happy belated Mother’s Day to all moms; every day is Mother’s Day! What about a father’s heart? Is it not caring, compassionate and patient? Of course our fathers love us very much; but the love of a father manifests itself differently than a mother. That is the beauty and brilliance of God the Creator and the wisdom of the sacrament of Marriage.

El Papa Francisco inicia su Carta Apostólica Patris Corde anunciando el 2021 como el Año de San José: “CON EL CORAZÓN DE UN PADRE: así amaba José a Jesús”. A menudo y con razón, nos reflejamos en el corazón de nuestra madre. Ninguno de nosotros seríamos quienes somos sin el amor de nuestra madre. Su cuidado, compasión, compromiso, preocupación y paciencia hacen que su naturaleza sea única. Feliz Día de la Madre atrasado a todas las madres; ¡todos los días son el Día de la Madre! ¿Y el corazón de un padre? ¿No es cuidadoso, compasivo y paciente? Por supuesto que nuestros padres nos quieren mucho; pero el amor de un padre se manifiesta de forma diferente al de una madre. Esa es la belleza y el brillo de Dios el Creador, y la sabiduría del sacramento del matrimonio.

En Patris Corde , el Papa Francis co desarrolla siete aspectos de San José como padre que sirven de guía. Los animo a leer esta breve carta. Para despertar su curiosidad, he aquí las siete imágenes de San José que contienen a: un padre querido, un padre tierno y cariñoso, un padre obediente, un padre que acepta, un padre creativamente valiente, un padre trabajador y un padre en la sombras. El Santo Padre también escribió una oración especial a San José para este año que los invito a rezar. Mientras lo haces, reflexiona sobre esas imágenes de San José y reza por todos los padres. Tienen un trabajo arduo y necesitamos que sean hombres felices, sanos y santos como San José. ¡Un bendito Día del Padre para todos los padres!

Salve, cutodio del Redentor, y esposo de la Santísima Virgen María. A ti Dios confio a su Hijo; en ti María depositó su confianza; contigo Cristo se forjó como hombre. Oh bienaventurado José, muéstrate padre también a nosotros y guíanos en el camino de la vida. Concédenos gracia, misericordia y valentía, y defiéndenos de todo mal. Amen.
