Stimson was installed as the new President of the North Suburban Bar Association (NSBA)…Judge Thomas R. Mulroy, past CBA President, received NSBA’s L. Sanford Blustin Award… Vincent R. Vidmer will be installed as President of the Justinian Society of Lawyers’ annual meeting on September 26… Michael M. Carbonargi, Chair of Cook County’s Board of Review, will receive the Justinian Society’s Outstanding Achievement Award and Sam Tornatore will receive the Society’s Justinian Award of Excellence…Illinois Appellate Court Justice Cynthia Y. Cobbs is the new Chair of the Illinois Judicial Council. Jean Liu will be installed as the new president of the Chinese American Bar Association on October 11. Honorees at President Liu’s installation include Sharon Hwang, who will receive the Justice Laura Liu Lifetime Achievement Award; Tuyet Le, who will receive the Distinguished Service in Law
Award, and Jeffrey Koh, who will receive the Presidential Leadership Award Retired U.S. Court of Appeals Judge Ann Claire Williams received the Legal Assistance Foundation of Chicago’s Cham- pion for Justice Award, which was pre- sented by Andrea Zopp, President and CEO of World Business Chicago...Judge Raul Vega was named Acting Presiding Judge of the Circuit Court’s Domestic Violence Division, replacing Circuit Court Judge Sebastian T. Patti, who was named a Federal Immigration Judge in Los Angeles… Sara Su Jones, internation- ally renowned violinist extraordinaire and member of the CBA’s Symphony Orches- tra, performed at DePaul University’s spec- tacular Holtschneider Performance Center in celebration of the life and legacy of her music professor Mark Zinger … James J. Grogan, Deputy Director of the Illinois Attorney Registration and Disciplinary Commission, will receive Loyola Univer- sity School of Law’s Medal of Excellence on Saturday, October 13…Professor Mark E.Wojcik, The JohnMarshall Law School, received the 2018 Burton Foundation Award for Outstanding Contributions to Legal Writing Education and was also named Chair of the American Bar Association’s Standing Committee on the Law Library of Congress…Circuit Court Judges Diann K.
