Th e panelists all suggested that if you get that board seat, begin by reading the materials provided in their entirety, and talk to your fellow board members. While the money is nice, none of the panelists would be on boards if the experience was not meaningful and valuable. However, all talked about sacri fi cing other things to be able to be an e ff ective board member.
