CBA Members Make Memories and Enjoy History

A lmost 70 judges, attorneys, and guests came together for a remarkable week of education, cultural exploration, and collegiality during the CBA’s 2026 CLE Abroad program to Greece. The seven-day journey through Athens and Santorini blended high-quality continuing legal education with extraordinary opportunities to experience the history, beauty, and hospitality of Greece. The CLE programming was both intellectually stimulating and culturally enriching. It was hosted at the Civil and Criminal Supreme Court of Greece and the Athens Bar Association and featured prominent judges and attorneys from both Greece and the United States. Topics included comparative civil and crimi nal law, artificial intelligence and the law, alternative dispute resolution, legal ethics, aviation liability, and rule of law issues. Participants especially appreciated the opportunity to engage directly with members of the Greek judiciary and bar in discus sions that provided comparative perspectives on legal systems.

Beyond the classroom, attendees experienced some of Greece’s most iconic landmarks and cultural treasures. High lights included the opportunity to stand among the ancient monuments of Athens and reflect on the origins of democracy and the rule of law. The second half of the trip took the group to the breathtaking island of Santorini, where attendees enjoyed organized excur sions and free time. The island’s stunning scenery, whitewashed villages, and famous sunsets provided an unforgettable backdrop for relaxation and exploration. The combination of world-class CLE programming, excep tional hospitality, cultural immersion, and shared experiences made the 2026 Greece trip one of the most memorable and rewarding programs hosted by the CBA.

The next CBA CLE Trip Abroad will be held in Spring 2027.
