Justice John Paul Stevens Award Nominations for the Association’s 2022 Justice John Paul Stevens Award are due August 5. The CBA established the award in 2000 to honor lawyers and judges whose careers emulate the integrity and commitment to public service of Justice Stevens, who was a lifelong member of The Chicago Bar Association. The CBA’s Alliance for Women recognized outstanding women lawyers who have significantly contributed to the advancement of women in the legal pro fession at their annual awards in June. The Founder’s Award, given to women who have demonstrated a sustained, active commitment to the advancement of women throughout their careers, was awarded to Mary Clare Bonaccorsi, Polsinelli. The Alta May Hulett Award, named for the first woman lawyer in Illinois and awarded to a woman who meets the Founder’s Award criteria but has been qualified to practice law for 15 years or less, went to Kernisha Padilla, Latham & Watkins. 2022 CBA Leadership and Board of Managers Timothy Tomasik succeeded E. Lynn Grayson as the CBA’s new president at the Association’s 149th Annual Meet ing in June. Ray J. Koenig III moved up to First Vice President, and Kathryn C. Liss will serve another year as the Association’s Secretary. Newly elected members of the Association’s Execu tive Committee are John C. Sciacotta , Second Vice President, and Nina Fain , Treasurer. Outgoing President E. Lynn Grayson will remain on the Executive Committee for the new bar year.
