Suggestions for Sizzling Summer Reading

Almost 200 years ago, Thomas Jefferson wrote John Adams, “I cannot live with- out books or an e-reader.” Well, maybe not an e-reader. But Jefferson’s point about paper books (and their electronic equivalents) remains true, particularly for the legal profession. Books are our portal to the law, our link to the past, our gateway to information and learning. Traditionally, the summer months allow more time for leisure reading. This summer, withmany of us working remotely and avoiding discretionary travel, books offer something else–a refuge from the transformed world outside our front door. Members of the CBA Record editorial board and a few others were asked to offer a good book for this summer. Jefferson would certainly approve.
