programs focused on helping individuals at both ends of the age spectrum. These will include a mentoring program for our future lawyers, as well as programs that focus on the largest growing section of our population: the baby boom and older adult population. To that end, we are putting together a series of audio and video tapes to be acces- sible at Chicago’s 80-plus public libraries. The first series will be related to issues that most acutely affect the baby boom genera- tion and older adults. If these programs gain traction, we will be able to expand our topics via the knowledge base of our committees. Additionally, this year we will unveil a new blog. This will allow the Young Law- yers Section to engage our members in yet another medium, expanding our ability to communicate and receive feedback from our members and the legal community at large. The Young Lawyers Section will also focus our efforts on establishing a new radio show featuring live question and answer segments related to issues facing older adults. This will expand the reach of our current podcast (run by our most recent chair Jonathan Amarilio), our jour- nal, and our blog, and allow us to add a live aspect to what we do, in an effort to reach more members of our community. Further, we will be implementing a new mentoring program with DePaul’s Law School. Its goal is to help current law students engage with young lawyers who can provide them with practical insight into the practice of law. Finally, we will be revamping the role of the Directors of the Young Lawyers Section. During this upcoming year, the Directors will not only be responsible for overseeing committees, but also for assist- ing in the oversight and implementation of our annual projects and generating written content of use to our members. I look forward to working with all the members of the Chicago Bar Association, the Young Lawyers Section, and the legal community at large to reach our goals of providing a benefit to the legal community, and the community as a whole.

I Look Forward to Working with You By Brandon E. Peck YLS Chair T he CBA’s Young Lawyers Section stands out in the legal community by allowing individuals new to practice to not only show their passion for the legal profession, but to take part in charitable works, educational programs and professional development. I am a third generation attorney in Chi- cago. I have had the privilege of working with my grandfather and father, simultane- ously, and now with my father, on a daily basis. As a result, I have seen the fantastic work of the Young Lawyers Section first- hand for many years. My first involvement with the YLS was when I started to attend our executive committee meetings as a co-chair of the Estate Planning Commit- tee. I spent the first few meetings listening and observing how things worked, but by midway through the year I was comfort- able enough to start to add my input and comment on pending issues. I am a firm believer that with an ever-expanding group of individuals across multiple generations, new ideas and new opportunities will be created for the YLS. During this upcoming year, the Young Lawyers Section will add a number of new
