parents. Initially, you might view them as an authority figure, but if you are lucky the relationship grows to where you become friends and peers. I have been lucky that over the years my relationship with my father has matured from someone I can have a conversation with as an adult, to a mentor, and now a law partner. I want to thank him for his tireless support and mentorship. Finally, I want to thank my family for their support over this past year. Having your wife’s support is nothing to take lightly, nor do I do so. Whether it be the ability to talk things through, or arrange for who will watch the kids, I would not be standing here today without her sup- port. To my parents, thank you for your guidance, advice and support. You have been there to listen to all my comments and complaints, provide words of encour- agement, and, most importantly, you are always there for me as a sounding board. Over the course of this past year, we have renewed the efforts of the YLS Blog, continued to produce fantastic material for the @the Bar Podcast, rolled out a new Law Student Mentoring Program, and created a new Board Match Program. The effort of all YLS members was needed and continues to be needed for all of these programs and the other fantastic programs the YLS does every year. One of my goals this year was to encourage more YLS members to get engaged in the decision making process of the Executive Committee. I am thrilled to say that over the course of this past year, new faces continued to appear at Executive Committee meetings, whose voices and views were invaluable. Thank you for all everyone has done for the YLS this year and thank you for allowing me to serve this wonderful organization. NEED MEETING SPACE? The CBA has a variety of meeting rooms and can provide catering and audio/visual services for cli- ent conferences, firmmeetings, social gatherings etc. Call Michele Spodarek, CBA Conference Center Manager at 312/554-2124 for details.
