The CBAYoung Lawyers Section and the BlackWomen Lawyers’Association of Greater Chicago (BWLA) jointly prepared a video to encourage Illinoisans to register and vote in the November 3 General Election. Young Lawyer Business Law Litigation and Transactional Committees The Young Lawyers Section is pleased to announce the formation of two new committees: Business Law – Litigation and Business Law – Transactional. Members are encouraged to join one or both committees at www.chicagobar.org (or email yls@chicagobar.org) to receive notice of upcoming virtual meetings and seminars. As a reminder, you can join any CBA or YLS committee at no extra charge, and most live Webcast committee meetings qualify for Illinois MCLE credit. Business Law – Litigation The Committee aims to serve the diverse needs of young corporate litigators - including those at small and large firms alike. The committee will sponsor two extended seminars on topics germane to our committee members’ representation of closely held and public entities. The Committee will assist young lawyers in addressing the needs of their clients, devel- oping professional skills, and making contacts in the Chicago legal community. Leadership: Kyle J. Participating members will learn about topics such as how to start a new business, drafting and negotiating agreements, and handling mergers & acquisitions. Additionally, there will be opportunity to learn and discuss the issues that corporate clients frequently encounter involv- ing such matters as investing, fundraising, employment, intellectual property, privacy, confidentiality, fundraising, loans, insurance, and tax. The committee meets on the 4th Wednesday of the month at 12:15 p.m.
