CBA Bits & Bytes March 2018

In this inaugural issue of Law Practice Management & Technology Bits & Bytes, a supplement to the CBA Record, we want to introduce readers to business tools and processes to improve and expand their law practice. In 2012 the ABA’s Model Rules of Professional Conduct 1.1 (Compe- tence) comment [8] was revised to read: “To maintain the requisite knowledge and skill, a lawyer should keep abreast of changes in the law and its practice, including the benefits and risks associated with relevant technology,…”. The Illinois Rules of Professional Conduct Rule 1.1 (Competence) comment [8] has been updated to reflect the language in the model rules effective January 1, 2016.
