THE BRIDGE CITY CARDINAL SINGERS ARE A TESTAMENT TO PERSEVERANCE. In a recent history marked by ever-changing leadership, as well as a pandemic which put a hold on the act of singing together, the Cardinal Singers stood their ground. Now, under the direction of Kate Colby, they are returning full-force; the program is projected to nearly double in size in the next couple years, creating a stronger, more competitive ensemble representing the district. Although their numbers are small now, that hasn’ t stopped them from being represented at the state level. In the 21-22 school year, alto Liliana Mendoza competed at the TMEA Area auditions, and soprano Presley Faulkner scored a Superior ranking at Texas State Solo and Ensemble Contest. In the future, Mrs. Colby hopes to build multiple thriving ensembles. She invites everyone, no matter their experience or skill level, to be a part of this exciting and growing program.
