KENTUCKY BAR FOUNDATION HOSTS THEIR 9 TH ANNUAL JUDGE EDWARD H. JOHNSTONE AWARD DINNER

The Kentucky Bar Foundation hosted its 9 th Annual Judge Edward H. Johnstone Award fundraising dinner, attended by close to 200 attorneys, judges, and community members on November 18, 2025, in Paducah. The event raised $32,480 with proceeds going towards grants for law-related organizations and projects throughout the Commonwealth. The Bar Foun dation honored attorney Clarence Allen “Woody” Woodall, III of Cadiz with the Judge Edward H. Johnstone Award for his commit ment to public service, his work to build the public’s trust in the justice system, and his efforts to improve access to justice for all people, regardless of income level or background. Judge Woodall has devoted his life to the law, public service, and his community. A graduate of the University of Kentucky, he earned both his Bachelor of Business Administration and his Juris Doctor from UK. He prac ticed law for nearly three decades before beginning a distinguished judicial career as Circuit Judge of the 56 th Judicial Circuit, covering Caldwell, Livingston, Lyon, and Trigg counties, where he served

from 2007 until his retirement in 2022. In addition, he is widely respected for nearly 20 years of work as a mediator and arbitrator. Judge Woodall’s professional contributions are extensive. He served on the Kentucky Bar Association Board of Governors, led the Kentucky Counsel of School Board Attor neys as its President, and has been active in organizations including the American Bar Association, Kentucky Defense Counsel, Inc., and several mediation and arbitration associations. His leadership, integrity, and dedication to fairness earned him the admi ration of colleagues across the state. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Judge Woodall is a devoted civic leader and family man. He is a longtime member and past President of the Cadiz Rotary Club and the Cadiz-Trigg County Chamber of Commerce. He has also given generously of his time to the Cadiz-Trigg County Tour ist Commission, Troop 57 Boy Scouts, and the Trigg County UK Alumni Associa tion, and is a parishioner at St. Stephens Catholic Church. Together with his wife, Teresa McAtee Woodall, he cherishes their five children, ten grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
