AppalReD Legal Aid recently promoted Michelle Fisher to senior attorney in AppalReD Legal Aid’s Somerset office where they will center Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in AppalReD’s work to better meet the needs of those on the margins. Fisher is a legal assistance to Victims Attorney and has helped thousands of children and adults who have experienced violence. Fisher is a graduate of Loyola University New Orleans College of Law. Along with their work at AppalReD Legal Aid, Fisher actively participates in Pulaski County Operation UNITE Coalition, the board of the Boys and Girls Club, and as president of the Somerset chapter of PFLAG. AppalReD Legal Aid is also pleased to announce the promotion of Courtney Taylor to senior staff attorney in the Prestonsburg office. Taylor is passionate about working with elders and the people who care for them to ensure seniors can access Medicaid. Taylor will visit senior centers throughout Floyd, Pike, Knott, Magoffin, Martin, and Lawrence Counties and speak with the elderly, nursing home workers, and family caretakers. Taylor is a graduate of the University of Pikeville and the University of Kentucky College of Law.
