Bench & Bar January/February 2025
COLUMNS
WHAT: For those that don’t know, the Kentucky Legal Food Frenzy is a food and funds drive to provide Kentucky food banks with the resources that they need to combat food insecurity in our local communities. Yes, all food and funds raised by you go to support the food banks in your local area. WHO & WHY: All lawyers, law firms, law schools, and legal agencies in Kentucky are encouraged to participate! However, the goal of the Legal Food Frenzy is to ultimately support our food banks and those people in need. So, of course, anyone and everyone is welcome to support the Frenzy. We will recognize those lawyers, law firms, and legal agencies who participate. There are several categories of awards so that everyone has a fair oppor tunity to compete and show their support for this year’s Frenzy. The law firm or legal organization that collects the most total pounds of food will be awarded the pres tigious Attorney General’s Cup at the 2025 KBA Annual Convention. Additionally, the team that collects the most total pounds per attorney will be awarded the Bar President’s Award. Awards will also be given based on the leaders in the following categories: Solo Law Firm (1-3 attorneys), Small Law Firms (4-10 attorneys), Mid-Sized Law Firms (11-49 Attorneys), Large Law Firm (49+ attorneys), Corporate Legal Department, Government Entity, Law School, and KBA Supreme Court District. WHEN: The Frenzy will officially begin on March 18 th , 2025 and conclude on April 7 th , 2025. Reg- istration information will be coming soon. GOAL: Last year, we raised approximately $38,383.27, and this year we aim to reach an ambitious goal of $58,000—about 150% more than last year! With your support, we are confident we can achieve this significant milestone. We also extend our gratitude to Lawyers Mutual of Kentucky for their steadfast support. Your sponsorship is crucial in enabling us to offer valuable programming and events that benefit Kentucky’s young lawyers.
