Attendance jumped to 200 this year, reflecting growing interest in the event’s timely discussions. “Our focus is always relevance,” says Lardiere. “Every topic, every speaker has to deliver real value to members. That’s what keeps them coming back.” Behind the scenes, the Blue Ribbon of Excellence Award winning chapter’s strength comes from its committees and culture of mentorship. Longtime volunteers intentionally bring in younger members to sustain momentum. “I got involved through a friend 25 years ago,” recalls Roth. “Now, I make it a point to invite the next generation. You’ve got to keep the ball rolling.” That energy extends online, too. Maggie Abitanto, the chapter’s social media lead, has elevated NABIP New Jersey’s visibility through dynamic coverage and real-time posts from events. Her work has helped broaden engagement and amplify the chapter’s voice across platforms. Looking ahead to 2026, excitement is already building as New Jersey prepares to host NABIP’s Annual Convention in Atlantic City, just seven weeks after its own state event. “We can’t wait to welcome the country,” says Lardiere. “It’s our chance to show everyone how strong and connected this chapter really is.”
