REGION IV Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wisconsin “ Each state does certain things better than others, so let’s learn from each other.” — ANGELA MLYNARSKI, REGION V VP
C onnection and continuity define Region IV’s outlook. RVP Cally Ideus says her focus is on strengthening cooperation among regions and ensuring a smooth transition for future leaders. “Succession planning is essential,” she says. “We want to leave behind a structure that’s strong, clear and sustainable.” The region also helped launch NABIP’s new cybersecurity education partnership, which pro vides monthly awareness sessions and quick alerts when major threats arise. The training is now being translated into Spanish to reach more members. “It’s all about alignment,” Ideus says. “National staff, regional volunteers and local leaders all need to move together in the same direction.”
R egion III is developing streamlined systems that make member connections effortless and consistent. Under RVP Sara Walker-Hite, the region has automated NABIP’s “7 Touches” new-member program so each new member receives consistent outreach. “We wanted to make sure no one falls through the cracks,” she says. “The automation gives volunteers breathing room during busy seasons while keep ing every new member engaged.” Professional development is also gaining traction. Agency owner and author Robert Slayton now chairs the PD committee, bringing in speakers and tools to keep content fresh. Chapters are holding 50/50 raffles to boost PAC funds, while Mike Embry is helping verify donation records and reconnect with contribu tors whose recurring payments may have lapsed. To make leadership more accessible, Walker-Hite launched a digital hub through the Illinois site linking every state chapter, shared documents and calendars, and recordings of the new Leadership Connect series. “We’ve opened the doors,” she says. “Our Leadership Connect meetings used to be board-only. Now any leader or volunteer can join, and the collaboration has been incredible.” REGION III Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, West Virginia
