director to help get everything set up. By February 2023, the Wisconsin chapter returned with Dannenberg as its president. It was a long and frustrating process, but the connections Dannenberg was making kept her motivated. “I finally found my people and support, which I never had. It really changes you and changes how you feel about your business and the way you conduct yourself, and then it just gives you so many resources,” she says. “I feel like I have a tribe along for this ride.” In 2024, Wisconsin hosted the Region IV meeting, revived its state conference, had a Medicare summit and started offering continuing education events. “It’s a testament that you will only get back what you put into it. For years, I was a member, but I didn’t participate in anything,” says Dannenberg, core account manager of corporate benefits at The Insurance Center. “I thought, well, what are they doing for me? But you have to take the initiative and reach out to people. That’s when you truly feel like you’re a part of something.”

Members from across Region IV gathered in Madison, Wisconsin, for the region’s annual meeting last summer. “We said at last year’s Region IV meeting that we would do it even though we had no clue what we would do. But it was awesome. We had a great meeting and a great turnout,” Dannenberg says.

Dannenberg exited the stage after accepting the award for the highest growth in a small chapter at NABIP’s 2024 Annual Convention in Chicago.

Dannenberg and other Wisconsin members joined Susan Rider, NABIP pres ident-elect, for a suicide awareness walk in Chicago at the national Annual Convention.
