Autumn Years Spring 2023

Good Morning Waterfalls, Tenn Lu.

Mei likes to do dance, Zumba, ballet and computer games. She whips out her iPad and shows her game, Gardenscapes. They do Fishdom in Chinese (they both speak Mandarin, Taiwanese and English). They advise people not to play computer games all day, but recognize that the strat egy of playing these games is good for the brain. Both praise the artwork in com puter games. Tenn’s other interests are photography and gardening and he goes

everyone painting. He says on one trip he did 10 paintings. Before the COVID pan demic, they would travel to Taiwan to see friends and his 100-year-old mother, who still watches her investments in stocks. They say it’s too bad she doesn’t do the iPad, which would have allowed them to communicate directly with her and to see each other. Their future includes plans to travel, and enjoy their love of music. He likes classical, she likes everything. Mei sings with the Teaneck Community Chorus which rehearses at the Teaneck Ethical Cultural Society, and as a pandemic pre caution, singers use special masks. You’ll find them on Thursdays with the Pali sades Folk Dance Group at the Tenafly Senior Center.

to exercise class because he says that men who don’t exercise are either sick or dead. He limits his television watching, pre ferring to avoid too much bad news. Mei likes to read nice stories, and says that if you are a good person, God will reward you. She tries to guide people to do better, to help them learn to be good. Their outlook is reflected in the art work they love: create something beautiful to make life better. a
