America's Benefit Specialist July 2023
believe we do a great job developing educational program ing. Our professional-development courses need to contin ually evolve to provide valuable information to our members so they can become better benefits and insurance profes sionals and compete in 2023 and beyond. We continue to do great work in this area but we haven’t marketed this well to our members. We’ve heard over and over from smaller chapters that they struggle with board transition and workload. We need to listen and help these chapters. Membership is local so we need to develop a streamlined model for chapters to follow so they can spend more time working on member experi ences and less time managing the board’s workload and transition planning.
We must find the resources to upgrade our member-man agement system, whether that is through grant applications or fundraising. It simply cannot wait. Equally as important as membership communication is chapter communication. From a national standpoint, we’ve got to be more aligned with our chapters, and vice versa. Although the challenges may vary across the country, nationally we’ve got to provide a better blueprint for success at the chapter level. How do you hope to offer help or assistance to the chapters and members of NABIP? This should be the first question we answer in everything we do at the national board level and all state and local chapters as well. The greatness of NABIP lies within our members. I
I BELIEVE THE BEST WAY TO IMPACT A GAME IS TO BE A PLAYER, NOT JUST A FAN. I BELIEVE WE OWE IT TO OUR INDUSTRY AND OURSELVES TO GET INVOLVED.
