All About Holland 2024

The Pump House

This charming museum is the last surviving structure of the Hotel Ottawa complex that burned in 1923. The Pump House tells the stories of Holland’s historic coastline and is a central feature on the Black Lake Boardwalk linking the Mt. Pisgah dune stairs to Holland State Park. Open weekends in June and daily July to Labor Day. Experience the sights and sounds of these tumultuous years in our nation’s history: smell the powder, hear the boom of cannons, and talk to famous generals as they plan their assaults. Each year, “Abraham Lincoln” and other historic figures gather at the onetime home of Civil War veteran Ben Van Raalte, a son of Holland’s founder. Van Raalte Farm is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and is part of a 160-acre park providing the perfect backdrop for our annual Civil War Muster. Civil War Muster
