Is This the Year That Cruz, Nimitz Flip the Script? THE TABLES TURNING

COMPARED TO OTHERS IN THE DISTRICT, THE NIMITZ GIRLS SOCCER PROGRAM HAD SOMEWHAT OF A “DOWN-YEAR” IN 2024, AS THEY ENDED UP NEAR THE BOTTOM OF THE STANDINGS. That doesn’t mean the team wasn’t competitive. There were a handful of games in which the Cougars only lost by a single score, which implies that finishing contests will be a point of emphasis this winter. First-team, all-district honoree and team-captain Sherlyn Cruz will (Sr. CM) control the flow of the offense from the midfield alongside Ashby Cordova. Meanwhile, Cecilia Duran, Angelli Gonzalez, and freshman Cinthia Velasquez hold down the defensive side of the ball.
