Expectation Remains the Same for MacArthur Soccer THE STANDARD MAINTAINING

JUST AS WHAT WE’VE COME TO EXPECT, THE GENERALS DOMINATED ON THE PITCH A YEAR AGO, GOING 11-1–2 IN DISTRICT PLAY TO SECURE BACK-TO-BACK DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIPS. Unfortunately, MacArthur – who went 13-6-4 overall – was narrowly eliminated by Conroe in a penalty shootout to open the playoffs. Suffice it to say, they will be more than ready to flip the script this time around. While the team says goodbye to the now graduated Aldo Hernandez (14-6A MVP) and Ricardo Cerda (14-6A GK of the Year), coach Salvador Fernandez brings back plenty of star-power in 2025. The reigning District 14-6A Defensive Player of the Year Victor Juarez (Jr. RB) returns to anchor the back line, alongside senior Alden Segundo. Meanwhile, David Anaya (Sr. MF), Omar Reyes (Sr. ST), and Angel Landaverde (Sr. W) provide some more veteran leadership to propel the group forward. Could this be the year that MacArthur returns to the Regional Final, like they did in the 2021-22 campaign? The Generals certainly have the depth to do so.
