It is imperative that all hazardous substances are clearly marked in your facility. Refer to the following regulation on the definition of a substance that is hazardous to one’s health. OSHA29 CFR 1910.1200(c) “Health hazard”means “a chemical for which there is statistically significant evidence based on at least one study conducted in accordancewith established scientific principles that acute or chronic health effectsmay occur in exposed employees.” The term“health hazard” includes chemicalswhich are “carcinogens, toxic or highly toxic agents, reproductive toxins, irritants, corrosives, sensitizers, hepatotoxins, nephrotoxins, neurotoxins, agentswhich act on the hematopoietic system, and agentswhich damage the lungs, skin, eyes, ormucousmembranes.”
