FitVine Lodi, California

CABERNET SAUVIGNON A clean version of classic cab ernet sauvignon ($14.99), it is full-bodied with dark fruit on the front. It’s balanced, with a hint of oak and soft tannins that round out coffee notes, providing a finish that is soft and supple. CHARDONNAY An easy-drinking chardonnay ($14.99), it is fruit-forward without a huge amount of oak on the palate. Fermenting in stainless steel instead of oak allows for the citrus and tropi cal notes to shine, and a crisp, clean finish follows through. SPARKLING PROSECCO Bubbly and bright, this spar kling prosecco ($18.99) pops with pear and green apple notes. It finishes light and enjoyable on the palate with soft minerality and finesse. Find FitVine wines in select Acme Fresh Market, Heinen’s, Discount Drug Mart and Giant Eagle locations.

Many of us have been indulging in more drinking during these stir-crazy times, so the start of this new year is a good time to select a better-for you wine. FitVine is a first of that kind and continues to be popular. Started by Tom Beaton and Mark Warren in 2015, the wine is made from grapes they source from sustainable growers throughout California in areas like Lodi, Sonoma, Napa and the Sierra Foothills. FitVine uses an extended fermentation process that, according to its website, pro vides lower sugar, so that each bottle has less than one gram of sugar and no flavor addi tives while remaining vegan friendly and gluten-free. Here are some options to sip on, guilt-free.
