organization that exists so that a full continuum of care supports mental wellness and freedom from addiction. Additionally, the Board of Directors identified six key areas as priorities for the ADM Board and its system of care. Addiction: The ADM Board works to ensure that Summit County residents have supports to prevent or delay the onset, to treat, and to recover from addiction. In doing so, Summit County will experience a reduction in the rates of substance use and drug overdose deaths. Mental Illness: Timely and effective mental health services are accessible to and utilized by Summit County residents.
As part of this focus area, first responders are trained to recognize and address mental health issues. Equity in Access: Barriers to services that people need are mitigated throughout Summit County. The ADM Board and its system will pay particular attention to reducing barriers experienced by underserved communities, resulting in sufficient and equitable access to services for all residents. Public Awareness: Summit County residents are aware of the importance of and resources available for addressing mental health and addiction. As awareness increases, the stigma surrounding mental health
and substance use services decreases. Awareness also provides residents with the resources they need to engage in lifestyle behaviors that minimize risk and add protective factors to their lives. System Capacity: The ADM Board continues to partner with highly skilled and effective providers. This system of care seeks to recruit and retain diverse behavioral health and addiction service professionals. Innovation: As the world around us changes, so must our approach to serving Summit County residents and their needs. The ADM Board supports collaboration and innovation across systems in our community.
The County of Summit Alcohol, Drug Addiction, and Mental Health (ADM) Board plans, funds, monitors, and evaluates treatment, prevention, and support services for people who experience substance use disorder and/or mental illness. The ADM Board contracts with a variety of agencies throughout Summit County to provide quality services for residents, ensuring that those who need resources have access to opportunities for recovery and hope.
