John Van Norden, #2110W 2025 ADK 46ER TRAIL MASTER REPORT Mark Simpson, #6038V W e need to start out with a huge thanks to those who came out and made 2025 a very successful season! A total of 94 individuals (an increase of four from 2024) will have worked about 2,200 hours (less than 2024 due to the lean-to build we did in spring of 2024) on 26 work days. On the herd paths, volunteers logged additional hours. In May, we started with our blowdown sweeps and drainage clearing of our regular trails in the Dix Range and on Giant and Whiteface mountains. Due to weather conditions in May, we could not sweep the trails in full as planned but we were able to get volunteers back up there in June and July to finish our work. The last weekend of May this year we started a new event at Elk Lake Resort as part of a cooperative work weekend. Fourteen volunteer names were picked from a hat and were treated to full accommodation and meals over the weekend. These volunteers were joined by the rest of the crew over the two days and we swept blowdown, drainage and side cutting around the perimeter of Elk Lake, Clear Pond, Lightning and Grandpa Pete’s Hillstrails. We hope to expand this experience in 2026. As a side note, we worked every weekend in May — and every weekend it rained. The Saturday of the Elk Lake
