Adirondack Peeks Winter 2024
Where can you get more information if you want to pur sue some or all of these? The www.peakbagger.com website is an amazing resource. Trip reports and GPS tracks posted here to seldom visited points were invalu able to me in planning. The New York county high point list is here: https://peakbagger.com/list.aspx?lid=13319. There is also the book Peak Experiences: Hiking the Highest Summits of New York, County by County by Gary Fallesen that may be available used. I can’t attest to the book, but expect some aspects must be dated as it was published in 2000. More Information

Ode of an Adirondack 46er Charlie Reller, #6359W
In the Adirondacks you’ll find many a high peak It’s those over four thousand feet I do seek! Forty-six in number, to climb them all was my quest A worthy challenge for sure, I don’t say this in jest! Time in the woods, the camping, and miles of hiking It’s all been good for my soul and much to my liking! I’ve hiked with friends and my sons, oh what a pleasure Most important of all, those are the times I do treasure! On my journey to date I’ve spilled blood, sweat, and tears Hiking edges of cliffs I’ve faced a great number of fears But to a 46er, the fears are just a challenge to overcome To feel proud of oneself when it’s all said and done! At the top of each peak I’ve been left to much guessing Why I’ve been chosen to receive such a grand blessing Leaving that question to others, I view the horizon in awe I’ll ever cherish the memory of the wondrous sight I just saw! At the final peak there was heard a loud round of cheers My great quest was completed, after climbing for years But the journey’s the joy, that’s the truth I must say So I embarked on a new quest the very next day!
