Join Iowa PBS on September 30 at 6 p.m. at Living History Farms for an exclusive preview of our newest documentary, The Pope’s Visit to Iowa . This remastered film follows Pope John Paul II’s first trip to the United States as leader of the Roman Catholic Church in October 1979, exploring the logistical and spiritual planning that went into his visit to the Heartland. Refreshments and optional tours of the Church of the Land will be available beginning at 5 p.m. A discussion with John Torpy, producer at Iowa PBS, and individuals featured in the documentary will follow the hour-long premiere.
