NOVEMBER’S BEST THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION This new six-part documentary directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein and David Schmidt examines how America’s founding turned the world upside-down. Thirteen British colonies on the Atlantic Coast rose in rebellion, won their independence, and established a new form of government that radically reshaped the continent and inspired centuries of democratic movements around the globe. An expansive look at the virtues and contradictions of the war and the birth of the United States of America, the film shares the memories of the men and women who experienced it.

The American Revolution premieres November 16 at 7 p.m.

2025 IGHSAU GIRLS STATE VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIPS

Don’t miss any of the girls state volleyball action! Coverage begins at 10 a.m. on November 6 as athletes from across the state compete for the championship. Each match will be broadcast live on Iowa PBS and livestreamed on iowapbs.org and YouTube.

2025 ALL-STATE MUSIC FESTIVAL A tradition continues this month on Iowa PBS with the presentation of the 2025 All-State Music Festival. More than 1,000 Iowa students go through a long process of practice and preparation in hopes of being selected to participate in this annual concert held at Hilton Coliseum in Ames.
