SHIFT: THE RAGBRAI DOCUMENTARY JULY’S BEST

Presented by The Des Moines Register , this film explores the people who ride and the towns that host one of the largest bicycle rides in the country. RAGBRAI offers riders seven days to put their lives on hold and risk saddle sores in the July heat, while pedaling across the Iowa countryside. Can you find yourself in the middle of nowhere? Shift explores that question as Des Moines Register journalists follow three riders and a pair of community leaders during the lead up to and the actual ride of RAGBRAI.

GRANTCHESTER ON MASTERPIECE Grantchester returns with Will happily married to Bonnie, and Geordie and Cathy content in their rebuilt relationship. Exploring faith, forgiveness and redemption, this explosive season of Grantchester tests Will and Geordie to the limit. HUMAN FOOTPRINT This new six-part documentary series, hosted by biologist and Princeton University professor Shane Campbell-Staton, embarks on a journey to understand all the ways humans have transformed the planet. Part science series and part travel show, it takes viewers from farms to restaurants, from a high-tech lab to a sweltering street market, from pristine rainforests to the sewers of New York City. Human Footprint airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. beginning July 5. YANKEE DOODLE POPS 2023 Each year, the Des Moines Symphony welcomes more than 100,000 Central Iowans to celebrate Independence Day at Yankee Doodle Pops, the largest single-day concert event in Iowa. This year, during the 29th annual event, Music Director and Conductor Joseph Giunta and the musicians of the Des Moines Symphony will once again perform time-honored patriotic favorites during a statewide broadcast for all Iowans to enjoy. Yankee Doodle Pops 2023 airs live July 3 at 8:30 p.m.

Grantchester returns July 9 at 8 p.m.
