It’s that time of year again! Time for big animals, crazy contests, food on a stick, midway rides, butter sculptures and, of course, Iowa PBS’s state fair coverage. For some Iowans, gathering to watch the network’s annual highlights program is as much of a tradition as the fair itself. Tune in for Fair 2024 Monday, August 12 through Saturday August 17 at 9 and 10 p.m. each evening. Watch all six episodes back to-back on Sunday, August 18, beginning at 2 p.m. Clips and episodes will also be available online at iowapbs.org/fair.

ACADEMY OF COUNTRY MUSIC HONORS Celebrate the country music industry’s favorite night featuring the biggest names in the genre. From the historic Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, this special features performances by today’s established and rising stars.

GREAT PERFORMANCES: VIENNA PHILHARMONIC SUMMER NIGHT CONCERT 2024 Enjoy the world-renowned Vienna Philharmonic’s annual open-air concert from the gardens of Austria’s Imperial Schönbrunn Palace. This year’s performance features Andris Nelsons as guest conductor joined by soprano Lise Davidsen as guest soloist.

Great Performances: Vienna Philharmonic Summer Night Concert 2024 airs August 23 at 8:30 p.m.

ODYSSEUS RETURNS An amateur historian, Makis Metaxas, claims he found the bones of Odysseus, the hero of Homer’s epic poem, “The Odyssey.” But the discovery is soon embroiled in controversy, and Makis embarks on his own odyssey to convince the world he is right.

Odysseus Returns airs August 28 at 8 p.m.
