For Your Information How to Properly Connect Heater Based on Voltage When connecting a heater to 120 volts, be sure to do the following: • Use a 20 amp single pole breaker • Use 12/2 with a ground wire • Restrict circuit load to 1,500 watts • Never addmore than 1,000 watts to an existing circuit When connecting a heater to 240 volts, follow recommendations from either Option 1 or Option 2. Option 1 • Use a 20 amp double pole breaker • Use 12/2 with a ground wire • Restrict circuit load to 3,800 watts Option 2 • Use a 30 amp double pole breaker • Use 10/2 with a ground wire • Limit circuit load to 5,700 watts
