Prevent Resident Falls Using Anti-Tippers And Anti-Rollbacks

Anti-tippers are devices attached to the frame of the wheelchair to help prevent the wheelchair from tipping over and injuring the user. Rear anti-tippers are installed on the rear underside of the wheelchair chassis to prevent rearward tipping. Rear anti-tippers are most effective for residents who commonly self-propel and climb ramps, hills or uneven surfaces. Front anti-tippers are most effective for residents who commonly lean forward or have a tendency to rock back and forth, either voluntarily or involuntarily.

If changing the seat-to-floor height with or without a change to seat-to-floor angle, the correct anti-tippers must be used tomaintain a 1-1/2" to 2" ground clearance.
