Connect. Encounter. Vincentian Volunteers of Cincinnati offers young professionals an opportunity to give deeply of themselves to their neighbors in need, rooted in the mission of St. Vincent de Paul. Vincentian Volunteers live in intentional community, offering support, challenge, and encouragement as they probe questions of faith, social justice, poverty and service. Deliver immediate and direct services to neighbors who are struggling, and promote lasting solutions and long-term benefits. TYPE OF PLACEMENT: Direct social services, healthcare, emergency assistance, strategic planning, homelessness prevention, logistics, volunteer coordination, food assistance/pantry, service learning,
AFFILIATIONS: The Vincentian Family, following in the rich tradition that flows from the lives and works of St. Vincent de Paul and St. Louise de Marillac. GOAL OF PROGRAM: The Vincentian Volunteer program aims to create opportunities and provide inspiration for young people to serve those in need, to live together in a small Christian community, and deepen their Christian faith. TYPE OF PLACEMENT: Working in homeless centers, center for asylum seekers and refugees, SVP shops, schools for children with visual impairment, residential home for the elderly and the center for those recently visually impaired. Working in parishes in deprived areas. AREA OF SERVICE: Manchester and Liverpool, England LENGTH OF SERVICE: 10 months REQUIREMENTS: Christians of any denomination aged between 18-35, no dependents, commitment to service and community living, open to living simply. FINANCIAL ARRANGEMENTS: Basic living and food allowance. LIVING ARRANGEMENTS: Communal living with separate bedrooms. SIZE OF PROGRAM: Between 8 and 12 volunteers. TRAINING: Orientation weekend and formation weekends. APPLICATION DEADLINE: July 31st
