FEBRUARY 23-25 DR. K’S MOTOWN REVUE An amazing array of seasoned musicians and singers deliver a very realistic re-creation of the Motown Sound with every performance, transporting you back to another era. Keeping the Motown sound true to its roots, Dr. K’s Motown Revue combines a perfect blend of Motown era costumes with fantastic singers who complement this latter day “Funk Brothers” type band of musicians perfectly. The resulting show is nothing short of a powerhouse performance. MARCH 13-MAY 24 “STEEL MAGNOLIAS” An immediate critical and popular hit in its premier production in New York, Steel Magnolias revolves around the lives of a group of gossipy southern ladies in a small- town beauty parlor. The play is alternately hilarious and touching, revealing the strength and purposefulness that underlies the antic banter of its characters. Julia Roberts was nominated for an Academy Award in the Best Supporting Actress category for her performance in the 1989 film version of this play. JULY 10-AUGUST 22 “NUNSENSE” Featuring lively songs, tap and ballet dancing, an audience quiz, and comic surprises, Nunsense has become an international phenomenon! The Little Sisters of Hoboken discover that their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, has accidentally poisoned 52 of the sisters. In dire need of funds for the burials, the remaining delightfully wacky sisters decide the best way to raise the money is to put on a variety show to raise the much needed funds. SEPTEMBER 6-OCTOBER 18 “RUN FOR YOUR WIFE” Run For Your Wife is a highly successful, fast-paced comedy that had audiences rolling in the aisles in London and New York! A meek and mild taxi driver, who is unable to say “no” to a woman in need, finds himself with wives in two different areas of London. Over the years, he has been able to keep his dual lives separate – with no one the wiser – because of his astonishing ability to adhere to exacting timetables in his irregular work schedule. On the day the play takes place, the taxi driver’s schedule is knocked askew by a couple of hours, and he has the brakes suddenly applied on his slippery life style. Complication is piled upon hilarious complication as the cabby frantically tries to keep his double life from exploding! NOVEMBER 1-DECEMBER 20 “A PLAYHOUSE CHRISTMAS” Celebrate Christmas with our original holiday song and dance extravaganza, A Playhouse Christmas .
