DEF INITIONS ASTM (American Society for Testing & Materi- als) Rating: An international standards organi- zation that develops and publishes voluntary consensus technical standards for a wide range of materials, products, systems, and services. Expanded Metal: A form of metal, made by shearing a metal plate in a press so that the metal stretches. This leaves diamond-shaped voids surrounded by interlinked bars of metal. Extruded Aluminum: A durable, lightweight metal, which is strengthened by the process of extrusion, in which it’s pushed through a die and comes out in long, shaped strips. Flo-Coat® Steel Tubing: Steel that is given a triple-coat (zinc, conversion coating, and clear organic top coat) corrosion protection which provides a smooth, shiny appearance with un- matched strength and durability. HDPE: (High Density Polyethylene) A poly- ethylene thermo-plastic which is made from petroleum (it takes 1.75 kilograms of petroleum to make one kilogram of HDPE). HDPE is com- monly recycled, and has the number "2" as its recycling symbol. Milk bottles and other hollow goods manufactured through blow molding are the most important application area for HDPE.

Mounting Options:

Powder Coating: A dry finishing process using finely ground particles of pigment and polyester resin. It is resistant to chipping, scratching, and color fading, and doesn’t contain pollutants that harm the environment. Punched Steel: A form of metal, which a “Punch” is used on, leaving circle-shaped voids in the metal. Resinwood: Made of 100% plastic, so it will never degrade over time like many wood-plastic composites will. UV stabilizers protect the color and structure of the resinwood, assuring that the plastic lumber will be maintenance free for years to come. Sunbrella® Marine Grade Fabric: Sunbrella ® has been a leader in superior performance fabrics for over 45 years. It has earned the Skin Cancer Foundation’s Seal of Recommendation for its ability to filter out harmful rays from the Sun. Fabrics made out of Sunbrella ® are designed to last two to ten times longer than conventional fabrics. Thermoplastic: A polymer material (plastic), which turns to a liquid when heated, then becomes solid when cooled. Thermoplastic can be heated and cooled repeatedly. The type of thermoplastic coating ParknPool carries is textured Polyethylene.

O.D. : Outside Dimensions Perforated Metal : A form of metal, with perfora- tions (or holes), typically made with a die and punch. The metal is sheared by pressing (by ma- chine or by hand) the punch through the metal and into the die. Platisol : A PVC (polyvinyl chloride) material, which once cured, cannot be made liquid again. Once the heated steel frame is dipped in the liquid Platisol resin and baked at 400°, it cannot be melted or removed from the steel. A coating which has a softer feel, is approximately 1/8" thick, has UV stabilizers, is antifungal, can be used for outdoor and indoor applications, and has a high gloss shine. Polypropylene : A thermoplastic polymer, made by the chemical industry and used in a wide variety of applications, including textiles (e.g. ropes). It is rugged and unusually resistant to many chemical solvents.
