The Fundamentals of DSLR Cameras Move beyond the “auto” mode of your digital SLR camera. We’ll cover the menus and settings, interchangeable lenses, shutter speed and aperture, metering, focus and white balance. Bring your camera and manual. Charlie Seton has a MBA from the Northwestern Kellogg School of Management. You’ll choose any area of interest and refine it throughout the course. Some possibilities: creative portraits of family or pets; documen- tation of a group or place; or exploring night photography. Each week, we’ll review and discuss the shots you’ve taken, then you’ll have an opportunity to go back, “fill in the gaps” and improve on these photos. By the end of the class, you should be well on your way to a finished project of either an exhibition or a book. Pre-requisite: basic photo course or equivalent experience. This class introduces Photoshop to the beginner in a methodical and engaging series of lessons that involve classroom practice with photographic images. Starting with basic tool sets, the class progresses to projects that apply techniques that utilize layers, masks and tonal and color adjustment procedures. Students will become acquainted with retouching methods along with the rich creative possibilities Photoshop offers for compositing and enhancing. Lightroom for Beginners: A Better Way to View, Organize and Edit your Photos Taking lots of photos and having a hard time keeping track of them? Want to be able to fix up parts of your photos in addition to doing overall corrections? Shooting in RAW format? Ready to move beyond iPhoto and Picasa? Lightroom is a wonderful program which can do all of this and much more at a very reason- able price. In five sessions you will learn the basic interface, how to import and organize your photos into folders, basic photo fix- up, how to upload your edited photos to social media, and even how to create a photo book without leaving Lightroom! Lightroom for Intermediates NEW! For those who have taken Lightroom for Beginners or who have previous experience. You will build on previous skills as well as learn to edit a photo shoot, the use of key wording for future image retrieval and how to manage and back-up files securely. Students will also learn to process their own images using local correction tools of Lightroom as well as practice the comprehensive use of the cropping tool and print preparation module. By the end of the course students will be able to bring out the best in every shot, creating amazing images that inspire and delight.
