The Slip Coupling simplifies repair by doing the job that two couplings and extra pipe used to do. Only one end of the coupling has a stop, allowing the other end to slide freely over the end of a pipe. The fitting can be released with a disconnect tool and slid back onto the other end of the pipe for successful leak repair.
