PHOTO BY TRILLIUM DEWYSE Port Townsend High School, Port Townsend, Washington Photographing on a dreary day can be a challenge, so we’re impressed with what this photographer accomplished. The water is in great focus – just look at the drops flying off his hair and falling down his nose! It’s a great angle, too. You can tell they got down low to take the photo and got close enough to risk getting wet. We like the depth of field and the way the water almost frames the student on his homemade raft. The droplets almost create an outline of his body, particularly the water off his arm, showing movement and action. The photographer captured a great expression during a moment that deserves to be remembered.
