100 Years of Boswell
Jim speaking to the troops
Jim Boswell Jim Boswell is the third generation of his family to oversee the J. G. Boswell Company, following in the steps of his great uncle, Colonel JG, and his father. But his leadership is not just about carrying on tradition—it is about evolving and adapting to an ever-changing world. Jim grew up in the business, spending countless summers working on ranches and even spending two years in New South Wales with Auscott. After earning his business degree at California Polytech nic State University, he gained hands-on experience across nearly every aspect of the company, from marketing and ranching to IT. That deep understanding made him the perfect fit to lead, ensuring the company remains strong while preparing it for the future. Jim is a steady force in an industry that never stops changing. As he often says, “Things change,” and under his leadership, the J. G. Boswell Company has embraced that reality. The company today is lean er, more skillful, and better prepared for the next one hundred years—not an easy task for a business with such a long history. Rather than sticking to what has always been done, Jim looks beyond the horizon, shaping strategy for an evolving world. He has led the company through major transitions, from the passing of JG II in 2009 to selling Auscott, expanding into the pistachio business, navigating the historic flood of 2023, and tackling new challenges such as increasing government policies.
